I am a Senior Researcher Fellow at the Institute of Federalism at the University of Fribourg. My research investigates how nationalism and identity politics shape and challenge electoral democracy in Europe. I investigate party strategies, the structure of party competition and voting behavior from a comparative perspective. Previously, I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Bern and the University of Konstanz. I received my PhD at the ETH Zurich.
